Tucked away in the rolling hills of Rwanda, the Gihindamuyaga Monastery stands as a testament to faith, community, and service. Our brothers follow a mission rooted in centuries-old Benedictine traditions, offering prayer, hospitality, and compassion. Beyond our spiritual duties, we are deeply engaged with the local community through a variety of ventures.
Our monastery is a center for both spiritual reflection and active service. We are involved in a variety of services, including:
A hotellerie, providing comfortable accommodation to visitors from near and far, ensuring a restful stay in the heart of Rwanda.
A restaurant and bar, offering delicious Rwandan cuisine, including our specialty goat brochette, in a tranquil natural setting.
A jewelry store, showcasing unique local crafts and beautifully handcrafted pieces that reflect the rich heritage of the region.
A primary school, where we nurture the minds and spirits of young learners, fostering an environment of growth and education.
Additionally, we have embarked on the construction of a hospice center, continuing our commitment to compassionate care for the sick and elderly. Each of these projects and services not only supports the monastery but also serves the broader community, providing employment and opportunities for development.

Community Service Through Umuganda
Every month, our brothers participate in Umuganda, Rwanda's national day of community service. Recently, they joined local residents to help repair a road, strengthening the bond between the monastery and the community. Through these efforts, the brothers contribute to the well-being and progress of the neighborhood.
